| Joke Site Upload all the files and directories at the main html directory at your server, using your favorite FTP program. Keep the same directory structure Change the directory permissions as follow: "banners" directory -> chmod 777 "items_images" directory -> chmod 777 and this file: "conn.php" -> chmod 777 4. To install the database tables, point your browser to: http://www.your-domain.com/install.php A form will be placed. You will need to enter your database information (database username, database password, database host, database name). If you are not sure about the correct values, contact your hosting provider. After pressing the "Install" button, the database tables will be installed. It is better to delete the "install.php" file after the installation is completed. Note: the installtion comes with no categories, demo joke entries and no banners, however a file called Recipe_Data.sql is included with about 60 recipes to get you started. To use this file, login to your Cpanel and find your way to PHPmyAdmin (hopefully your server has this program), if you are using Cpanel, it will be under the SQL icon located on the main page. On the SQL page, a PHPmyAdmin link will be present at the bottom of the page. Once there you will select the SQL tab for the database for this site, then select browse to find the file called Recipe_Data.sql, then click ok. There should be no errors. NOTE: IF you use the included data file to create starter recipes, you MUST use it BEFORE you add your own or the file will remove your previous data! It is receommended you use the file on the initial install only. The admin panel is situated at: http://www.your-domain/admin username & password: admin To change the admin's username and password, login at your admin panel and follow the "Edit Info" link (the last link before "Logout" link). A form will be placed. Using this form, you will be able to change the admin username, password, name and email. To change the logo image, you need to edit "logo.gif" file and re-write the existing one. Advertising is done manually. Once you recieve payment, login to the admin area and add the item. Prices will need to be modified by hand by opening up advertise.php in your HTML authoring program. | |
