Star Clix 1.0's features include the following: Installation Instructions A good suggestion: Read through all of the information in this file before beginning to install. That way you'll have a bit of a feel for the script before you begin to use it. 1. Open up the file "clix_common.inc.php" in a text editor. Edit the variables at the top of the file ($ABS_PATH, $DAT_FILE, $DAT_EXT, $CFG_FILE, and $SITE_URL). 2. Upload all the files from the zip file into the same folder. 3. Access the uploaded "clix_admin.php" in your web browser. It will prompt you to set the initial configuration. Follow its instructions and press "Submit". It will then create the configuration file with this data and a blank data file for tracking links. 4. You may now login to your control panel by following the link given to you in the success message or by accessing the uploaded "clix_admin.php" again. Setting Options To edit the options, click on the link entitled "Set Options" on the main "Manage Data Files" page. From this page you may edit the default data file and whether full or short URLs are shown in the admin panel. On the page that comes up, there will be a textbox that has the current default data file's ID number in it. Simply change this number if you would like to. You may also change whether full URLs are shown or not in the admin panel. Setting this to "No" will temporarily delete the part of the link's URL that matches $SITE_URL (a variable that you specified in clix_common.inc.php) when showing links' URLs in the admin panel. Setting this to "Yes" will show the link's URL without any modifications, in the admin panel. Once you have set both or either of these 2 options, click on the "Submit" button. The script will edit the configuration file to reflect the new default data file and the new setting for full URLs. | |
